We are the Erasmus Generation !

ESN Haaga-Helia is a local section of the Erasmus Student Network and a member of ESN Finland. We operate primarily in Helsinki, Finland, focusing on supporting exchange and international students at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

We organise a variety of trips, events, activities, and offer support for students, helping them integrate into Finland and, more specifically, into Finnish student culture.

Our mission as ESN is to represent international students by offering opportunitites on cultural exchange and personal growth, guided by the principle of Students helping Students.

History

ESN Haaga-Helia has been an official local section of the Erasmus Student Network since 2002.

Previously known as ESN Helga, the section used to operate under Helga - Student Union of Haaga-Helia as one of its action groups. As of June 2024, the section was transfered to a newly founded and registereded association with the approval of ESN Finland's National Assembly.

Today ESN Haaga-Helia operates as one of the 15 local sections of ESN Finland, and locally among over 12 student associations local to Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

Erasmus Student Network

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-profit international student organisation that supports and promotes student exchange and mobility in Europe and beyond. With over 540 local sections in 42 countries, ESN provides support, assistance, and activities for exchange students, helping them integrate into local communities, experience different cultures, and make the most of their time abroad.

Its motto, “Unity in Diversity,” reflects its commitment to fostering intercultural understanding and international collaboration through active volunteering, advocacy and political influence in the European Union.

ESN Finland

ESN Finland is the national organisation of the Erasmus Student Network in Finland, representing and supporting its 15 local sections across the country. It works to enhance the quality of the exchange experience by coordinating national events, fostering collaboration between sections, and advocating for international students’ interests at the national level.

ESN Finland also organises events like the National Assembly and provides training and resources to strengthen its network and members, the sections, to promote student mobility.
